Last Saturday saw me playing at Plus Piano Bar in Raleigh, NC (yay, no travel!) for the first time this year. Plus has a regular (and phenomenal) team of house players who perform there every week, but whenever one of them is away, they'll often call me to come in and cover. Needless to say I'm always happy to oblige!
Plus is a pretty unique place as far as piano bars go; they have a rotating circular stage in the middle of the room, a drum set on a 3-foot riser, a full time sound and lighting guy (who does their photography too - thanks Rich!) so everything sounds and looks great, smoke machines, bubble machines, wireless microphones, oh, and comfy piano benches.
Pictured below is Eric Forbis in an action shot during a ripping solo on "Great Balls of Fire". Eric is one of the sweetest duelers I've met and knows a ton of songs. He and I also share an affinity for IPAs. Cheers!
